New Year’s Day CLOSED

We’re ringing in the New Year with some exciting changes at Small Town Sportsman! Effective on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 we will be open on Mondays from 1pm-7pm and Tuesdays-Fridays from 1pm-5pm. Cutting our hours may seem a bit crazy so let me explain the reasons for the change:

One of my passions is educating people on safe, proper firearm handling, promoting the outdoors, and getting people involved in nature. Throughout 2018, I’ve expanded my classes in these areas and have found that there is an increased demand for knowledge in this area. Providing our customers in-person, hands-on instruction is the best way to engage with firearms, nature, and the outdoors so we’re really excited about more classes. I have found teaching these classes to be very rewarding. In 2019, I’ll be getting more certifications in order to offer more classes. This will include introduction to safe firearms handling for young people, hands-on self-defense and more.

Reduced store hours will allow us to expand our online presence. We launched our new website in the Fall of 2018 to include an online store where customers can browse and purchase all the products that we have access to, whether we have them in our store or not. We have room to stock only a fraction of the products that we can offer our customers so by using our website, we can offer you all sorts of things that we haven’t carried in the past. Anything in our online store, excluding firearms, can be shipped to your door for $9.99 or shipped to the store for pickup at no charge. Firearms can be shipped to the store at no charge or to the FFL dealer of your choice for $9.99 (just be sure to contact the FFL dealer first to discuss any transfer fees that they may charge). We hope to make the website even better in 2019.

Another part of the website that will be expanding and improving in 2019 will be the Blog and Product Review section. We’ll use this part of the website to do product reviews and demonstrations, mostly through video format. We are fully aware that there are an overwhelming number of choices available whether it be for firearms, non-lethal self-defense products and outdoor products. I have a great deal of experience personally using many of these products and am curious about some of the ones I haven’t personally used. I think that having a knowledgeable, trustworthy person’s opinion about a product is a great way to learn more about it before spending your hard-earned money on something you may no little or nothing about. We’ll use the blog to share a variety of information from upcoming seasons & events, tell you about some of our outdoor adventures and ways to enhance your outdoor experiences.

We are looking very forward to these new changes and new opportunities to build relationships and expose more people to the Outdoors and/or Shooting Sports.

As the owner of Small Town Sportsman, I would like to personally thank each and every one of you reading this for your support and for your business. You have allowed me to pursue my passions doing what I love, provide quality education to those who want and need it and introduce the wonderful gift of the Outdoors to others; and for that I am truly grateful.

I hope your 2018 was as wonderful as mine was and am hoping that your 2019 is great as well.

Sincerely,

Dave Riemenschneider
